The only one that measures rather than asks. If you have a public URL, this beats every questionnaire above, because it does not depend on what you remember.
Still deciding what kind of project this is?
Before any of the above, there is a question that decides the shape of everything after it: are you moving the site you have, or building a new one. Those are different projects with different budgets and different ways of going wrong, and most teams never name which one they are running. Migrate or rebuild works through it.

Which free tool should I start with?
If the decision to move is not final, start with stay or switch. If it is final and you want to know how hard the project will be, use the migration planner. If somebody needs a budget figure, use the calculator. If you have a live URL and want measurement rather than estimation, use the instant grade.
What is the difference between the planner and the instant grade?
The grade measures a live site by fetching your pages. The planner asks you questions instead. Measurement beats self-report whenever it is available, so use the grade if you have a public URL — the planner exists for sites behind a login, staging environments, and moves being scoped before anything is built.
Are these actually free?
Yes, all four, with no account required. They are deliberately useful on their own rather than teasers — the paid report exists for people who want their actual pages scored rather than a directional answer, which is a different job.
How accurate are the questionnaire tools?
They are transparent rules-based models, not predictions. Every point in a score traces back to an answer you gave, and we publish the weights on each tool's page. They inherit the normal weakness of self-reported input: people consistently underestimate integrations and forget how many URLs they have.
